Douce France, a French store based in Toronto, commissioned a natural and inviting photoshoot to showcase their products. The goal was to create photos that transport customers to a picnic setting, inspiring them to imagine enjoying these delicacies outdoors.

The Creative Process

- Research & Inspiration I began by exploring Pinterest and Behance to gather ideas for ambiance, style, and composition. I identified trends and selected themes that would resonate with the target audience.

- Skill Building To gain confidence, I took an online course to learn photography techniques, focusing on composition, lighting, and styling tips relevant to product shoots.

- Product & Scene Preparation After consulting with my manager, I selected the products to be featured in the shoot. I then curated decor elements to create a picnic atmosphere, mixing textures and arranging props to evoke warmth and natural beauty.

- Photography Session I executed the photoshoot, experimenting with different angles, lighting, and compositions to capture the essence of a relaxed picnic filled with French delicacies.

- Post-Production Following the shoot, I selected the best images and adjusted the colorimetry to enhance their appeal. I prepared the final images for use on social media and product pages on the website.

The Challenge

As someone not formally trained in photography, I felt unsure about my abilities. However, my curiosity and determination drove me to learn new techniques and create a visually appealing product shoot that matched the brand’s vision.

The final deliverables were a series of professional and inviting photos of French products in a picnic setting. These images were versatile, used to promote the products on social media and as illustrations for product pages on the website.
